This weekend is devoted to making our own hand sewn Ditty-bags including manufacturing the ropes for the knotted lanyard.
This experience is a must for any knottyer, beginner and advanced alike!
Our goal is that after the weekend everyone goes home with good memories and new friendships
– and a Ditty Bag that you have made yourself!
This is a unique opportunity to not only make a beautiful ditty bag, but also an introduction into traditional rope making where we manufacture the cordage used for the bags and there is even a possibility to make ropes for your own future needs.
The workshop will take place in the beautiful old Dragsfjärd vicarage, which today serves as a resort located in Labbnäs – Finland. Labbnäs is a small village about 50min with car from Turku (Åbo) or 1.5h from Helsinki (Helsingfors).
For Accommodation there is a choice of double or single rooms.
I am more than happy to help you with travel arrangements, do not hesitate to contact me.
Price for the workshop is €355 including accommodation in double room (for single + €30) Breakfast, lunch and dinner from high quality ingredients.
Materials for the ditty bag is €25, paid separately. All materials and tools needed are included.

16.00 Registration and check-in to your room
17.00 Participants mingle and meet over a dinner.
18.00 Planning our Ditty Bags
19.00 We begin our work by familiarizing ourselves with tools and sewing techniques.
We continue talking and working until it is time to turn in for the night.
Sa. 19.3.
8.00 Breakfast
9.00 Interactive story about rope making history
10.00 Start sewing and making rope
12.00 Lunch
13.00 The work continues…
15.00 Coffee break and some fresh air until we continue…
18.00 Dinner and nap.
During the evening free mingle, tying knots and sewing if you feel like it.
The traditional Finnish Sauna is warm and welcoming after a full day of fun!

You´ll find all materials and tools at place but if you like to make your personal ropes for future needs,
take along yarns, twines and other materials that can be used for ropemaking.
